Gaosåli is a flower native to Guam and the Northern Marianas Islands. With associations to strength, resourcefulness, and courage, it has become a symbol to many in the Marianas. To me, this symbol and its meaning encapsulates the resilience and strength I’ve gained in my life. No matter how dark the turn taken, as long as the fire in my heart remains aflame, I’ll more than just survive, I will thrive.
