Taotaomo'na Earrings

This design is directly derived from cave petroglyphs found throughout the sprawling Micronesian archipelago. These markings are believed to be the handiwork of the earliest ancestors of the CHamoru people. Time has been a cruel thief; the original context and specific meanings of these ancient symbols have long been erased from collective memory. They exist now as whispers from a distant past, enigmatic, powerful, and beautiful. At House of Xellence, we have taken on the challenge to breathe new life into these markings, offering a modern reinterpretation of the iconography that connects us to our roots.

  The Dance of Life. These circular studs reference the rotating motion of the Bailan Lina'la. They serve as a rhythmic reminder of the ever-moving natural cycle of life, honoring the continuous flow of our history into the present.

• Atupat (Slingstone Shaped Studs)

  The Warrior’s Strength. Inspired by the weapon of choice for CHamoru warriors, the slingstone is a profound symbol of strength and protection. Just as our ancestors carried the physical atupat into battle, may you wear these as a steward of heritage and a protector of our culture in the modern era.
